Addressing an election rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said, “No government should discriminate the public on the lines of religion and caste.  Sabka saath, sabka vikas  is our mantra”, PM Modi said.  “Ramzan mein bijli aati hai tho Diwali mein bhi aani chaahiye; Holi mein bijli aati hai to eid mein bhi aani chaahiye. Bhed-bhaav nahi hona chaahiye  (If there is electricity during Ramadan; it must be available during Diwali too. If there is electricity during Holi; it must be available during Eid too. There shouldn’t be any discrimination), the prime minister added. He said,  “Gaon me kabristan banta hai to shamshaan bhi banna chahiye  (If there is a ‘kabaristaan’ (graveyard), there should be a ‘shamshaan’ (cremation ground) too).” This statement given by PM Modi can be termed as, “The most secular statement ever made by any politician in India” as it speaks about equal treatment to all sections of the society without any discrimination. रविवार १९ फरवरी २०१७ को उत्तर प्रदेश की एक चुनावी सभा को संबोधित करते हुये प्रधान मंत्री मोदी ने यह वक्तव्य दिया कि -" धर्म के आधार पर भेदभाव नही होना चाहिये . अगर रमज़ान मे बिजली मिलती है तो दिवाली मे भी बिजली मिलनी चाहिये ." देश के सारे के सारे विपक्षी दल पी एम मोदी के इस वक्तव्य को " साम्प्रदायिक " बता रहे हैं और इस हद तक आग बबूला हो गये हैं कि शिकायत लेकर चुनाव आयोग के पास भी पहुंच गये हैं . पीं एम मोदी के इस वक्तव्य पर और चर्चा करने से पहले आइए हम सन २००६ मे दिये गये तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह के एक बयान पर भी नज़र डाल लेते हैं -" मुस्लिमों और अल्पसंख्यकों का इस देश के संशाधनों पर पहला हक है ." कोई भी साधारण पढ़ा लिखा या समझदार व्यक्ति यह आसानी से बता सकता है कि ऊपर दिये गये दोनो बयानों मे से कौन सा बयान " साम्प्रदायिक " है और कौन सा बयान देश और समाज को भेदभाव से मुक्त रखन
